When is a fire pump required?
When the available water supply cannot meet the pressure and flow demand of the sprinkler or standpipe system. We confirm this with hydraulic calculations against a current flow test, then size and select a pump only if the demand truly requires it.
Do existing buildings need fire-protection upgrades?
Often, yes — renovations, change of use and many tenant improvements trigger current-code requirements for sprinklers, standpipes or alarm. We assess the existing systems and engineer compliant, constructible upgrades. See our retrofit page.
Which NFPA standards govern sprinkler design?
