Mechanical engineering & HVAC design Services.
Energy-efficient, code-compliant HVAC engineering — from load calculations and equipment selection to energy modelling, commissioning and HVAC retrofits.
Mechanical engineering
Engineered comfort, sized correctly the first time.
Our mechanical engineers design heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems that meet code, hit energy targets and stay within budget. We start with accurate load calculations and carry the design through equipment selection, ductwork and piping layout, energy modelling and commissioning.
Every design is coordinated with electrical, plumbing and structural disciplines in BIM, so equipment fits, clearances work and the contractor builds from a clash-free model. For occupied buildings, we engineer HVAC retrofits and replacements that minimise disruption while improving efficiency.
Where mechanical decisions matter most
Restaurant kitchen ventilation, hotel hot-water and comfort loads, multifamily ventilation strategies and mixed-use tenant fit-outs each demand discipline-specific judgment — not a copied template.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions.
What is an HVAC load calculation, and why does it matter?
A load calculation determines how much heating and cooling a space actually needs based on climate, envelope, occupancy and internal gains. Oversized equipment short-cycles and wastes energy; undersized equipment cannot hold setpoint. We use ASHRAE methodology so equipment is right-sized for performance and code compliance.
What is the difference between design development and construction documents?
Design development fixes the system concept, equipment basis and major routing. Construction documents are the signed, sealed, coordinated drawings and specifications a contractor builds and an AHJ permits from. We carry quality control through both phases.
How do HVAC retrofits differ from new construction?
Retrofits must work within existing structure, ceiling space, electrical capacity and occupied operations. We field-verify conditions, often with 3D scanning, then engineer phased upgrades that meet current energy codes with minimal disruption. See our retrofit page for detail.
